A Fall Weekend

Thank goodness for beautiful weather on a Saturday in the fall! We had such a good time enjoying some outdoor activities this weekend with Mimi and Pappy in town. We started out with an indoor activity on Friday night, a costume birthday party for our neighbor, Miss Kenzie. At first, Noah was just a little annoyed by his costume, but he got used to it as the night went on...he was Scooby Doo and we were, of course, his trusty sidekicks...Velma and Shaggy.
On Saturday, we started out by watching the Hogs play Ole Miss....I'm still pretty upset about that defeat so I won't even mention any more about it. Then we took a trip to the pumpkin patch since we have been so busy this year we haven't had a chance to go yet.

Can you guess which ones are the scarecrows and which one is Noah???

Whoa...these pumpkins are really heavy.

Noah and daddy playing in the pretty leaves...

He LOVED throwing the leaves up in the air!

Then it was off to the University of Arkansas to find my name on the Senior Walk. Can you believe I've never done that before? 7 years since I graduated and I figured it was about time. Noah was excited to go find it with us too.

After just a little bit of searching, we found it. It's really a neat thing for all of the alumni to have their name in the sidewalk somewhere on campus. I think they're the only college in the nation to have anything like this.

After taking several pictures of me with my name, Noah decided he was bored and he was off to run up and down the hills. I tried to get a picture of him by my name, but getting a 15-month-old to cooperate with your picture-taking is nearly impossible, so we just let that pass.

Noah must have had fun and worn himself out because he slept in on both Saturday and Sunday morning. It's been cloudy and rainy pretty much all day here so thank goodness we got in our outdoor fun yesterday. Thanks again Mimi and Pappy for the fun weekend...we enjoyed it!

Monkey see, Monkey do

Don't you just love how at this age, kids will mock almost everything you do? It's amazing how observant they are and how quickly they pick up on things and remember how to do them. It seems like every day, Noah does or says something new and I am always so impressed at how fast they learn. Below are some pictures of just a few moments that I caught our little "copycat".

Brushing his hair...

Swiffering the kitchen....

Laying just like daddy to read a book....

Taking a big drink.... (ok we don't really drink out of big pitchers, but you get the point. Actually, every single time after he takes a drink of anything, he opens his mouth and says, "Ahhhh" like it was such a refreshing drink. And he definitely learned that from us...silly little guy)

A day at the park

Even though it was pretty chilly, today was such a nice day and the sun was shining which is such a nice change from the dreary, cloudy, rainy days we’ve been having. So we decided to take advantage of it and go to the park. Noah loves to go and slide over and over. He usually ends up going down backwards on his stomach, so we’ve got some work to do getting him to slide the “proper” way each time. But there was no one else there today so I just let him do his own thing.

Wheeeeeeee!!!!!

Ok, mom. I think it's time to go...I'll drive.

Football, friends and fun

This weekend was full of lots of things I love...good friends, good food, good football, good fun. Friday night I went to dinner with Quynh and Robin, one of my good friends and college roommates who lives in Boston now and was in town for the weekend. We went to dinner at Soul...and it was very yummy. It was my first time to eat there and I would definitely recommend it. We spent lots of time talking and catching up. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera, so I didn't get a picture. Then on Saturday, we got up with the intentions of going to Fayetteville to meet up with good friends of ours from Little Rock who were up for the game. But once we stepped outside and realized it was verrrrry cold and Noah wasn't feeling too good because of his allergies, we decided to watch the game from home and let him sleep. After a 3 hour nap, and a very exciting win by the Hogs (Whooo Pig!!! I was so happy to see them play such a great game!!) he was up and ready to go. Before we left, we had to take a quick ride on the Spiderman 4-wheeler.

Then we stopped off at Wilson Park and played for a few minutes.

After a little fun at the park (and a major meltdown when we made him leave) we headed down to meet Dave and Amanda and their 2 kids, Kennedy and Caleb, who is just 2 months older than Noah. We had such a good time catching up with them and letting the kids play for a little while. I'm so glad we got to see them. I think Noah and Caleb hit it off and are big buddies now...I wish we lived closer so they could play all the time!

Noah loves little chairs that are just his size, and he kept wanting to sit in this one.

The kids loved looking at the big Razorback.

A rare mommy/son picture...even though he's not looking at the camera. Oh well....

And finally, after all the football festivities, we took Noah home to stay with the babysitter and Jeff and I enjoyed a dinner out for one of his friend's birthdays at one of my favorite restaurants in Fayetteville, Mermaids. If you haven't been there, you must try it. The food is always delicious! On Sunday, we had to go find a new washing machine because ours broke. Wouldn't you know, we have a huge pile of dirty laundry needing to be washed and I'm going out of town this week, and no washing machine! Our new one gets in on Wednesday and I can't wait. I'm sure the mountain of dirty clothes will be taking over the house by then. But other than that, we had a great weekend and I think we're all worn out! I'm so thankful for fun times with family and friends!!!

TGIF

Well, I must say that I'm always pretty happy when Friday rolls around each week, but boy am I ever excited for it to finally be here this week! It has been such a long week for some reason....maybe it's all the rain we've been getting, maybe it's the fact that we were supposed to be out of town for Noah's surgery this week and the plans got changed at the last minute, I'm not sure. But I'm sure glad the week is over! And what a fun weekend we have planned. I'm getting to see several different friends that are coming in from out of town and we're taking Noah to his first football game. Well, let me rephrase....we're not actually taking him in the game, just to tailgate. I think this wildly active guy would last about 12 seconds at a football game before he'd be squirming and squealing to get up and go. But it will be fun to meet up with our friends and their kids to play and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere around the stadium. I hope the weather cooperates and it's not too cold. So hopefully I'll have some good pics after the weekend and will have another post to let you know how all of that goes. I've really been in a picture-taking slump lately....but I'm determined to take the camera with me this weekend and get some good pictures! So until then, I'll leave you with some random pics of Noah that I managed to get this week.
And then, the always funny, falling into the toybox sequence.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
