A (little-bit late) Christmas recap

I just can't believe how much Noah has grown and changed in the last couple of months. And I've been doing a poor, poor job of blogging and documenting all the fun stuff he's doing, so this post is going to be a hodge-podge of sorts just so I can have record of some of these great memories.

We did Christmas at our house on the Monday before Christmas because we were leaving to go out of town, so Santa came that night. Noah still doesn't really get the whole concept yet, but he did get that he LOVED opening up presents.

We've been trying to make sure that we focus on the fact that it's Jesus' birthday and that's why we celebrate Christmas and less on the whole Santa thing. I took him to Hobby Lobby one day and they had a nativity scene out front. So we had to stand and look at and touch Baby Jesus over and over on the way in and out. When I finally told him it was time to go, he threw a fit and kicked and cried all the way to the car screaming, "I want to see Baby Jesus! I want to see Baby Jesus!" Oh my goodness. We did however, make a trip to go see Santa. Noah was really shy and wouldn't go sit with him by himself, so instead he sat on daddy's lap next to Santa. : )

The one thing he wanted Santa to bring him this year was a robot, or "hobot" as Noah calls it. So thank goodness Santa came through and brought him his new robot buddy, Alphie. Alphie stays in Noah's room mostly and when he's turned off, Noah says "Alphie's sleeping."

He also got a new hat. When Noah took it out of the package, he said, "A hat....nice" and literally tossed it behind him. Note to Santa: Hats are not the most exciting gifts for a 2 year old. Although, he was happy to put it on and pose for a picture with daddy later.

Watching him open his gifts was so funny though. With every one, as soon as he would start to rip the paper he would gasp, "aaahhhh" and then exclaim "What is this?!" or "Oh my goodness!!" I think he's watched someone open gifts before. : )

Once we got to my parents house, Noah was so excited for Uncle Chris to come and visit and play with him. He talked the whole time about "Uncle Kiss" and was so happy when he came over. They got him a Gap hoodie and every time he wears it now, he points to his chest and says "Uncle Kiss and Coteney (Cortney) got this" so proudly. They also have 2 little dogs, Laini and Leo and he calls them Haini and Heo.

He also got some fun stuff from Nanette and Papaw's house but the poor guy got sick the 2nd night we were there and threw up all over the place. I've never felt so sorry for him. But thankfully he seemed to be fine the next morning and was back to playing with all his toys. We went to church with Jeff's parents and he did really good staying in "big church" with us. But he kept himself entertained by "catching dragons" under the seats and putting them in everybody's pockets. When he catches one, he keeps it in his clinched up fist until he can put it in someone's pocket. You honestly never know where he might find dragons to catch....at Walmart, our hallway at home, the bathtub....they're all over the place!

When it was finally time to leave to go back home, Noah was sooooo sad. He screamed and cried getting into the car and when we got to the gas station, he said to me "Mama, I really sad". Then Jeff told him he was going to go inside and get him a snack. And he perked up and said, "Mama! I not sad....I happy!!!"

He has started talking so much lately and I gave Mrs. Tracy a warning on his first day back over there that he might talk her ear off. And when I got there to pick him up, she said she thinks he may have out-talked Shae that day!!! Quite an accomplishment because Shae-bug is quite the chatterbox too. Tonight we were all playing and he was talk-talk-talking about some random stuff and Jeff asked him, "Are you talking?" And Noah said, "I talk too much!!" We laughed and laughed about that. I suspect he's heard that somewhere before. ; )
