Yesterday, Noah had his first date with his friend Drew. Back when we found out that we were having a boy, and that our friends were having a little girl, we decided that they would one day be boyfriend and girlfriend. This was their first time to get together when they were actually awake and old enough to really check each other out, and I think they really hit it off. It was really just your typical first date. It started with a little awkward shyness, then came a little squealing and crying, followed by some playing in the jumperoo, then a little nap and some more crying at the end. What? You never had a date like that? Once they warmed up to each other, they were both talking and trying to hold hands. Very cute.
The date must have gone pretty well, because when it was time for Drew to go home, she got very upset. Noah tried to comfort her, but it really didn't seem to help much. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if she was upset about going home, or because she thought Noah was trying to give her a kiss. But either way, I think there will probably be a second date in their future.
In other Morrison household news, we finally got a working microwave....yay!! Ours has been broken for a few weeks. And a microwave is one of those things that you never realize how important it is until you don't have it. So we got a new one and Jeff thought he would take a stab at installing it himself....it's one of the ones that's mounted under the cabinet. He's never really been what I would call the "handy" type around the house (usually if something breaks, we wait until my dad can come up and fix it), but I have to say he did a great job! It was pretty funny to watch however, because everything kept going wrong...first, the microwave wouldn't fit, then he had to chisel away some of the tile on the backsplash, redo the mounting bracket, etc. But I don't think he thought it was very funny, nor did he find it funny that I was taking pictures of him while he was working on it. But as you can guess, I didn't really care! Thanks again for fixing the microwave!
And then I just had to post this picture because I think he looks so much like Jeff in it...is it just me? I have a hard time deciding who he looks like most of the time, but for some reason, I think he's all Jeff in this pic.
And lastly, after his little tantrum, Noah realized that Santa had probably been watching so he decided he might need to talk to him just to clear up any confusion. And since it's getting a little late to be mailing letters to the North Pole, and he can't write very well yet, he decided to let his shirt do the talking and send a little message to him via blog. Hope you see this Santa!
