Hallelujah!

He did it! He slept all the way through the night, didn't wake up once, not even for a minute and he did it in his crib! Noah's been a good sleeper since he was about 2 months old...he slept through the night only waking once, usually around 2 or 3 in the morning to eat, and then back to sleep. So by no means could I complain about that. But at our last dr. appt. I asked him about it and he said that he's probably just gotten used to waking up at the same time every night, and didn't actually need to eat. So he told us the best way to go about getting him to sleep through the night, but he said we should try putting him in his room to do it. Up until now he has been sleeping in the Pack and Play in our room, but the doc said it would be much easier for us and more effective if we tried it when he was in his own room. 2 nights ago, I put him in his crib, and just like clockwork, he was awake around 2:00. I went in and gave him his pacifier and comforted him, not picking him up, and continued that for about an hour and a half. He wasn't crying the whole time, which made it easier. But he would start to fall asleep and then wake himself up by throwing his arms up in the air. So finally I put him in the swing and let him sleep there for the rest of the night (it's probably not the best thing to do, but he sleeps so well in it and it got him back to sleep without feeding him). Then last night, we put him down around 8:00 in his crib, and he slept until we woke him up this morning. I have to say, I didn't get nearly that much sleep because I kept waking up just waiting for him to start crying on the monitor. So hopefully, if he continues to do it, I'll get used to sleeping through the night too! Yay for Noah!!

That's awesome! Oh I remember those days...for us it was not that long ago because Lauren was pretty much in our room until she was 10 months old...so good for you to do it all at once. I'm sure it's easier to do both the crib and crying it out at the same time. Sounds like you are doing great!
