O, Christmas tree

One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is decorating the tree. Growing up, we always had a fake tree but ever since Jeff and I have been married, we have always gotten a real tree each year and I love it....going to pick it out, the smell of it when we bring it in the house, the way pine needles completely cover our living room floor after dragging it in....well, not that part so much, but you get the idea. Normally, we go and pick out a tree as soon as we get back from Thanksgiving and I decorate the tree and the house all that night. Things aren't quite so easy with a four month old though. It seems like every time I'd try to start decorating, I'd get sidetracked with something else, so it took me almost a week to finally get the tree done. But it's done! Noah likes to look at the lights on the tree, but I can't let him get too close to it because he likes to grab anything he can get his hands on, and I'm sure he'd like to destroy some of the ornaments. This weekend he also got to go meet Santa for the first time and take a picture with him. I think he really wanted to pull on Santa's beard, but I explained to him before we left that this was the guy who would be bringing him presents if he was good, so I think that made him think twice about it. I think Christmas is going to be Noah's favorite holiday, just like it is ours.
