It's a zoo out there

The weather this weekend has been absolutely beautiful!!! It doesn't even feel like it could be August in Arkansas...but it is and I love it! So of course, we decided we needed to do something outside to enjoy it and decided we'd go to the Gentry Drive-Thru Zoo. I haven't been there in years and we figured it might be fun to see what Noah would do with all the animals. Well, he couldn't have been less impressed by them. We took him into the petting zoo with goats and pigs and other animals I really couldn't identify, and he was more interested in all the rocks and dirt and baby toys they gave the little monkeys to play with. I guess when you live with dogs as crazy as ours, zoo animals really aren't that fascinating. But I think he had a great time though...he loves being outside and he seemed excited to just be running around.
Here's a picture with Daddy, Noah and the goat that was standing on top of the little shed in the petting area. He was cracking me up...I guess he was trying to prove that he was the king of the castle. Jeff didn't want to get any closer to him because something in that goat's eyes said, "Don't mess with me." So we didn't.

And here's the pig that lived in the house that the goat was standing on. I think whenever I'm having a fat day and feeling like I really need to start exercising and lose some weight, I'll just look at this picture. : )
Daddy and Noah checking out the big turtle....turtle's kind of freak me out. Not sure what it is, but I'd rather not get too close to one.

Watching daddy pet the baby tiger inside the fence.

Mr. Independent trying to keep up with dad....he wanted to walk everywhere and it was tricky with all the rocks. He fell and did a couple of nosedives into the dirt, but got right back up and kept on running.

And last but not least, these crazy birds were everywhere. They come up to your car window and look at you with their beady eyes and look like they might peck through the glass at any minute. I'm not a big fan of them.

We had such a fun time. We'll definitely go back when Noah's older and will maybe get a little more excited about the animals. But for now, getting excited about the rocks will have to do.

That looks like fun! Next time you go, give us a call. I bet Noah & Wells could put some fear in the hearts of a few animals in the petting zoo :-)
